1. What Information We Collect

We collect two types of information through our website: “Personal Information” (or “PII”) and “Non-Personal Information” (or “Non-PII”). Personal Information is information that identifies or can identify you as an individual (such as residential address, phone number, or billing information), while Non-Personal Information includes aggregate information, demographic information, IP addresses, and other information that does not directly reveal your identity.

a. Non-Personal Information

When you visit or interact with our site, Profaj and third parties contracted by Profaj to provide services may collect your Non-Personal Information (e.g., a catalog of the Site pages you visit). Non-Personal Information is anonymous and does not personally identify you. It is generally collected through four different sources: IP addresses and web logs; cookies; pixel tags and other similar technologies; and other Non-Personal Information you provide voluntarily as described below.

  • i. IP Addresses and Web Logs: We collect and store your IP address to diagnose problems with our servers, manage our website, ensure you reach the data service that will provide the fastest connection to the site/application, and offer a personalized experience in terms of language and region. Our web servers automatically collect visitors’ IP addresses and log files. An IP address is a dynamic identification number automatically assigned to your computer by your Internet Service Provider (ISP). This number is automatically identified and stored in our server log files whenever you visit the Site, along with the time of your visit(s) and the page(s) visited. This information is collected in aggregate and does not contain any Personal Information. We use IP addresses solely for purposes such as calculating Site usage levels and diagnosing server problems. Collecting IP addresses is standard practice on the internet. In addition to the non-personal use defined above, we may associate your IP address with your Personal Information to prevent fraud and similar crimes.

  • ii. Cookies: We and third-party service providers may use “cookies” to collect information about how you use our site. Cookies stay on your computer and help your browser recognize the computer as a known visitor. For example, cookies will be used to save your email address and name when you log into your Profaj account. Thus, on your next visit from the same computer, we will “remember” your name and email to make the process faster and simpler. Occasionally, “session cookies” may be installed to help us manage our site. Session cookies expire when you close your browser and do not hold any information about you after they expire. If you do not want information collected through cookies, you should change your browser preferences. If you choose to reject cookies, you may not be able to use certain services on our site. If personal data is collected via cookies, your consent will be requested in accordance with the Law on the Protection of Personal Data (KVKK).

  • iii. Pixel Tags: We and our service providers may use “pixel tags,” “web beacons,” “clear GIFs,” or similar tools and HTML-formatted email messages to track your use of our website to provide more useful information and a personalized experience. A Pixel Tag is an electronic image, usually a single pixel (1×1), that is not normally seen by visitors and can be associated with cookies on the visitor’s hard drive. Pixel Tags do not contain Personal Information and allow us to count users who visit certain pages of our site to help provide branded services and determine the effectiveness of promotional or advertising campaigns.
